Chill out with these home spa ideas:

1. Dip your toes in a DIY foot bath

Your feet need a little love every now and then. A foot bath is super easy to put together and can be adjusted to suit your temperature and aroma preferences. All you need is a container of an appropriate size, warm water, bath salts, essential oils – and maybe even flower petals – and you’re set to soak those weary feet. If you need a little more help switching off, It might be nice to grab a magazine or book before settling in.

2. Use home supplies to create a nourishing hair mask

Avo, oatmeal and coconut. These are three of your hair’s favourite things. To create a nourishing hair mask, mix a ripe avo, tablespoon of apple cider, tablespoon of oatmeal, and tablespoon of agave together in a bowl. Then finish off with two tablespoons of coconut yoghurt. Voila! You have a thick, hydrating hair mask. Apply to clean, damp hair and leave on for about 20 minutes before rinsing.

3. Use home supplies to create a nourishing facial mask

It’s time to face your face! A facial mask made from all-natural ingredients is quick to whip up at home. Mash ¼ cup of plain yoghurt, two tablespoons of honey and a ripe banana in a bowl. Then smooth the mixture onto your face and leave for about 20 minutes for a moisturising treatment. Your skin is bound to feel softer, and smell great too!

4. Turn on an aromatic oil diffuser

Nothing says ‘rest and relaxation’ like a soothing fragrance. If you have an oil diffuser, add some drops and light it up to create a spa-like ambience in your home. Choose a scent that helps you unwind. Lemongrass, rose, lavender, citrus, vanilla, jasmine, sandalwood – whichever you prefer. As far as home spa ideas go, this simple one’s a real winner in our book.

5. Give yourself a mani-pedi

Colours, colours, everywhere! Which will you choose for your mani-pedi? Lay out your nail polishes and pick the colour that speaks to your most. Once you’ve made your choice, set it aside and work on the shape and condition of your nails – clipping, filing and buffing as needed. When you’re done, coat up and lay back until your nails are dry.
